TeamViewer is making its broadcast debut. Promoting free downloadable software that allows remote control access to any computer from anywhere in the world, the company is airing its first television advertising in two test markets, Atlanta and Salt Lake City.

TeamViewer, which is headquartered in Germany and looking to expand its presence in the U.S., selected West Coast advertising agency Davis Elen to develop and produce the campaign. Davis Elen is known for its creative work for other high-tech clients such as Cisco, Dolby and Zynga as well as leading consumer brands McDonald’s and Toyota.

The five-week television flight features the Rolling Stones classic hit, “I’m Free”. Bert Kelley, Partner and Director of Broadcast Production at Davis Elen, noted that "the final creative product marks the first time the song’s music publisher has ever allowed an ad agency to edit the original master recording."

The thirty-second spot, which is running in conjunction with an extensive online campaign also created by Davis Elen, graphically demonstrates the remote-control capabilities of TeamViewer. The technology actually permits you to control a distant computer as if you were sitting right in front of it. Via laptops, tablets and smart phones, people are shown remotely accessing computers from places as varied as an apartment rooftop and subway car and as unexpected as 200 miles above Earth.

The advertising, both in broadcast and online, features a strong call to action, directing consumers to the TeamViewer website for free downloading. Plans call for a national rollout once the initial test market phase has been completed and evaluated.
